Support our Independent Movie Distributors: Third Window and Terracotta

Oh-kay. So I really don’t like ‘selling’ things – the site doesn’t have banners or links where we encourage you to ‘buy this DVD from Amazon’, the closest to it will be trying to help promote some of the great festivals or other websites with great material. This post is a bit of an exception to that rule. It’s been a sad week for plenty of many business who have found themselves victims of the destruction and looting throughout London and other UK cities this week. Many of theUK’s independent film distributors have found themselves without stock following a fire started at Sony’s massive warehouse in Enfield. For more details read this.

Two distribution companies in particular who have always been supportive of NewKoreanCinema.Com – by both providing screeners and allowing their trailers to be hosted on the – are Third Window Films and Terracotta Distribution. Both of these companies appear to have lost their stock in the fire but they’re still here and still hoping to go about business as usual. We want to make sure that they do.

I’m hoping that you join in a show of support for these companies by heading off to see Villain (Lee Sang-il / 2010) – the latest title from Third Window Films – on its limited UK theatrical release (details of which can be found here), or maybe watch a film or two from either of the companies using their streaming services through MUBI for £2.99 per title which can be viewed on a PC or Playstation 3 – the links are listed below. Plus, don’t forget that stores and online retailers will still have copies of discs to buy…

Now seems as good a time as any to show oursupportfor two fantastic companies – they’re picking up great films to distribute and we can help them just by watching and enjoying them.
