Top French Arts Award for Jeon Do-yeon

Korean Actress Jeon Do-yeon has been given on of France’s most prestigious Arts awards at the Pusan International Film Festival – the snappy title of ‘Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honor, France’s highest‘ (Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Legion d’Honneur). Presented by the French Trade Minister Anne-Marie Idrac at the festival, the award makes Jeon a ‘Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters’ in honour of her contribution to the Arts.

Jeon previously won the best Actress Award at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival for her role in Secret Sunshine. Other film roles have included The Untold Scandal, No Blood No Tears and The Harmonium in My Memory.

The chevalier award was set up in the 1950′s to recognise contributions to the Arts, and previous receipients have included such people as Bob Dylan, Clint Eastwood, children’s illustrator Quentin Blake and…. Kylie Minogue.
