Park Chan-wook’s ‘Thirst’: U.K. Theatrical Release, U.S. DVD release and Competition

Park Chan-wook’s long awaited vampire flick THIRST will receive its UK premiere on 5th of October and the film is to be distributed by Metrodome (as part of a deal with Palisades Tartan). Over in the US, Focus Features have just announced that they will be releasing the film onto DVD on the 17th of November, but no special features have been announced yet.

For any Park Chan-wook fans, Palisades Tartan are also currently running a competition to meet the man himself for lunch on the day of the UK film premiere. As long as octopus isn’t on the menu, this is one hell of a prize – especially as it is open to US residents who will have a full trip to London paid for!

The closing date is 27th of September, so you’ll need to get your skates on, UK entry forms are found here and US entries can be found here.

THIRST stars Song Kang-ho and performed reasonably well at the Korean box-office. In the West the film won the 2009 Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, but it has also received mixed reviews. If you haven’t caught the trailer for THIRST yet then you can catch it here… but be warned it has some gruesome moments…
